on the Oregon Coast ...
  About Tillamook

Welcome to Tillamook, Oregon!
"Cheese, Trees, and Ocean Breeze".

In Tillamook, this isn't just a catchy motto, it's a way of life. Visitors can experience all these things plus much more in one of the larger cities on the Oregon Coast.

Tillamook offers many recreation opportunities for it's visitors. Due to it's size, Tillamook has the conveniences of a city yet possesses an original quality usually found only in small towns. For instance, Munson Creek Falls is a quick 7 mile drive south of Tillamook and it ranks as the highest waterfall in the coast range. Another claim to fame for Tillamook is the Blimp Hanger and Blimp Hanger Museum. The Blimp Hanger is the largest wooden structure in the world and although Blimp Hanger "A" was desroyed by fire in 1992, Blimp Hanger "B" still stands out proudly on the Tillamook horizon.

If a scenic drive is your thing, meander down the "Three Capes Scenic Loop" for great photo opportunities and for a bit of trivia. Witness the sight of the lost City of Bayocean which was washed out to sea in the early 1930's or perhaps you would like a picture of the infamous Octopus Tree. These wonders and much more can be found on a beautiful and memorable road trip around the loop.

When you're ready to settle in for the night and feed your face, Tillamook will be able to accommodate you in both ways. Choose from Hotels, Motels, RV parks or Bed & Breakfasts in surrounding areas. And when its time to eat, visitors will have a herd of restaurants from which to choose. Family dining, Chinese food, pizza, Italian, Mexican fare, fast food, and of course, CHEESE are readily available all on one street!
